Liverpool Three

As you know, I have written two previous blogs about my time spent in Liverpool, during the adjournment of Day 1 of my case. The exchanges with contributors have been more than interesting and enlightening, for which I am grateful; contributions are still being made. And I have learnt so much in such a short period of time.

The contributions have been very informative, enlightening and educational from which I have been enlightened for a better understanding of the environment around me wherever I go. Unlike with some things, I do not find ignorance to be bliss when travelling and not understanding or fully appreciating my surroundings.

I respond to all comments. However, one, in particular, caught my eye, which I have since learned is common, if not solely local, knowledge. Whilst walking around, I commented on how much I was enjoying it for many/various reasons, including, amongst others, historical and cultural. The praises are and were genuine and justified. Then I received this insightful comment with which I shall end this short piece.

If you ask someone from Birmingham, “which is the UK’s second city?” They reply, “Birmingham.”

If you ask someone from Manchester, “which is the UK’s second city?” They reply, “Manchester.”

If you ask someone from Liverpool, “which is the UK’s second city?” They reply, “London.”
